Description

Buddy Emmons 1962 Mel-O-Bar 9-String Sunburst Steel Guitar. Invented by Walt Smith, these instruments were made in the Mosrite factory beginning in 1967. This one was owned by the famed steel guitarist Buddy Emmons. Emmons was inducted into the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 1981. Buddy Emmons was known as "the worlds foremost pedal steel guitarist".
Good condition overall with some minor dings and scuffs. These were used by Jefferson Airplane on the Crown of Creation album and Brian Jones allegedly gave one to Jimmy Page shortly before his death in 1968. This one is in good working condition and is all-original with Mosrite pickups and knobs. There is a crack at the butt. 7.5 lbs. No case included. Condition: Good. Comes with a Certification Letter from the Attorney for the Estate of Buddy Emmons
