1951 Fender Esquire Blonde Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial # 1794. Early transition Esquire from 2 to 1 pickup. Holes drilled through neck pickup cavity as seen on very early Fenders with single slot truss rod. Body is Re-finished and thinned from sanding. Month on neck date is illegible but the rest of the code indicates a 27th day in 1951. Gold foil decal but neck may have been altered. Replacement bridge cover. Control plate, knobs and switch tip are original as are the electronics. Neck has been oversprayed. Interesting to note that this guitar was reportedly used in the writing and recording of Sheb Wooley's 1958 #1 hit, "Purple People Eater". Hard case included. Condition: Good.
