Barracuda Atomic Sub Store Display (Remco, 1960s). The Barracuda Atomic Sub was released by Remco in the 1960s. This rare in-store display showcases the popular motorized submarine toy, featuring multiple moving parts and accessories. A must-have Christmas gift in the early '60s, this rolling (on land only) vehicle used 4 "D" cell batteries to power its movement, fire missiles, and sound an alarm. The transparent removable deck allowed easy access to the interior compartments for positioning crew figures. This store display model remains mounted on its original cardboard pedestal, which highlights the toy's various features. The lot includes the 3-foot plastic vessel, an unopened bag of accessories (crew and missiles), operating instructions, a display sheet, and the original shipping box. The display card shows signs of wear, including tearing, creasing, scuffing, and edge wear. The submarine exhibits staining, scuffing, sticker aging, and some warping of the plexiglass deck, with the motorized component untested.
