Description
1926 Ernst H. Roth 1734 Violin.This is a full-size 1926 Ernst Heinrich Roth violin, made in Markneukirchen, Germany. It is a reproduction of the Josef Guarnerius, Cremona 1734 model. The internal label reads:
"Ernst Heinrich Roth, Markneukirchen, reproduction of Josef Guarnerius, Cremona 1734"
and is back-stamped:
"Ernst Heinrich Roth, Markneukirchen, A265".
Body dimensions:
Body length: 36 cm
Upper bout: 16.8 cm
C bout: 11.4 cm
Lower bout: 20.8 cm
This violin features a tight-grain spruce two-piece top, flamed maple ribs and neck, and a flamed one-piece maple back. It is finished in a rich reddish golden-brown varnish. All fittings are ebony, including the tailpiece, pegs, and chinrest.
