Description

Gary Morton's Getzen Trumpet. A 1973 SK model Getzen trumpet, serial #17209, owned and used by Morton. A stand-up comedian by trade, Morton was also an avid trumpet player, and this particular instrument was a gift to him from Tonight Show bandleader Doc Severinsen. The trumpet is in very nice shape, with working slides and valves that are in great condition. It is in overall Very Fine condition with mild tarnish to the hold points, but no dings, and is accompanied by a mouthpiece, leather carrying case, and a small assortment of some of Gary's sheet music. This lot will be accompanied by a letter of provenance from Susie Morton as the widow of Gary Morton, Ms. Ball's second husband. The lot is not offered by the estate of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.
