    Description

Beatles Related - Steve Howard's Trumpet, Used On Tour with Paul McCartney and Wings. Formed in August 1971 by ex-Beatle Paul McCartney, Wings is notable for its chart-topping singles and its revolving players, landing nine Top Ten albums on the charts while going through three different lineups. Trumpet player Steve Howard played with Wings 1975-80, including all of the band's tours during that period. This is the Conn Constellation trumpet he played while with the band during those years, serial number 922964, and it can be heard on the recordings of "Silly Love Songs", "Let 'em In", and "Coming Up", as well as all film and video recordings of the band from that period -- including the "Rockestra" sessions. Howard can also be heard playing it on Patti LaBelle's hit "Lady Marmalade", Allan Toussaint's Southern Nights, and recordings by Dr. John, Tracy Nelson, and others. It was played by McCartney himself on one occasion, a published photo of which comes with the trumpet in the form of a copy of the book The Facts About a Pop Group Featuring Wings. It is in Very Fine condition with some tarnish and scratches from rigorous use, and it's been in Howard's possession ever since. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Howard.
