Description

John Cipollina's 1978 Gibson Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary Sunburst Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #76218090 0449.
1978 Gibson Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary model in Sunburst finish, owned and played by legendary guitarist John Cipollina. This somewhat rare Les Paul features the distinctive appointments of the 25/50 model, including a multi-ply binding, split-block fingerboard inlays, gold hardware, and a unique toggle switch ring. The guitar shows moderate playwear with visible dings and dents to the finish. The original frets show minimal wear, and all electronics are intact and functional, though a cleaning is recommended for optimal performance. Includes the original Gibson Protector "chainsaw" hard case.
10.6lbs. Condition: Good.

The Gibson Les Paul 25/50 Anniversary was introduced to commemorate 25 years of the Les Paul model and 50 years of Les Paul's partnership with Gibson. With its deluxe features, upgraded appointments, and limited production, the 25/50 is already a desirable model among collectors. When paired with the ownership and history of John Cipollina-renowned for his work with Quicksilver Messenger Service and known for his searing tone and unique playing style-this guitar takes on an added layer of historical and cultural significance. Cipollina's preference for expressive, articulate instruments is well matched by the tonal versatility and build quality of this model. This is a rare opportunity to own not only a distinctive Les Paul but a piece of rock history directly tied to one of the genre's most iconic figures.
