Description

Joe Bonamassa's 1954 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst Solid Body Guitar, Serial # 0707. Very cool and rare 1954 hard tail Strat. Even cooler is that this was Joe Bonamassa's first vintage guitar. Purchased in 1988 with money from a savings bond that his grandmother left him. He owned the guitar until 1993. He hadn't seen the guitar until November of 2014 when he spotted it while looking over the Kurt Linhof Collection at Killer Vintage Guitars in St. Louis. He played the guitar that night at the Fox Theater. The guitar comes with a letter from Joe confirming the story and authenticity. Also included is a set list from that performance. Guitar has changed pots that date to 1961 and a phonebook capacitor. Pickups are correct but have a former owner's name scratched into them. Neck date is TG 9-54. Body date is illegible under finish. Tuners are correct but there are filled holes from past replacements. Neck has been oversprayed. Original pickguard with a small chip at the screw hole but one piece is in the case. Guitar was re-fretted at some point but Joe could not remember if he had ordered the work or not. Original hard case is included but the top and bottom have been altered to appear white. From the Kurt Linhof Collection. Price Guide Value $60,000
