circa 1950 Fender Broadcaster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #0859.
This circa 1950 Fender Broadcaster features a Butterscotch Blonde finish and has been expertly restored by Clive Brown, known for his historically accurate restorations. The body is solid ash with no visible date markings, and the neck also lacks a visible date. It includes a correct zinc bottom bridge pickup and a pot date code of 304021, dating to the 21st week of 1950. The guitar is fitted with a Clive Brown-correct style Bakelite pickguard and a Pat. Pending switch tip with some color in the indent. Tuners are later Kluson single-line models. The ashtray bridge cover is original and includes the distinctive solder spot. The control plate and electronics are original; however, the knobs are non-original, and the nut is a correct-style replacement. Note that the ground wire on the bridge pickup is currently cut and will require repair. The original hard appears to have had a polish applied at some point.
