Description

circa 1930's Vivi-Tone Brown Stain Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #68.
The Vivi-tone electric guitars were designed and built by the famous mandolin designer, Loyd Loar. This particular guitar looks like an acoustic guitar from the front but the top is 1/4" piece of mahogany with no body behind it. All of the sound is developed by the pickup system. The electronics are not working at the time of testing. A very early vision of the solid body electric guitar. Original hard case included. Condition: Excellent.
