1961 Gibson SG Les Paul White Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #3278. Finish, if original, would be extremely rare on this model. Some anomalies are spider web checking near top of headstock around the serial number. Binding is much darker amber than the clear coat on the guitar. Binding doesn't seem to match the binding of the end cap of the finger board, and was not scraped as per usual on Gibson guitars. PAF pick-ups and all other electronics are period correct, with pot dates of the 27th week of 1960. If the color was the original Gibson custom color "Polaris white", the binding would most likely have been painted as per usual by Gibson. As it is, we cannot confirm if this is a factory-finished Gibson guitar. Neck also shows some possible masking at heel, and does not match the remainder of the body's finish beneath a black light. Rare original brown hard case included. Condition: Good.
