1958 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar, Serial #A28065.
Rare and early, unbound dot neck Gibson ES-335 from the first year of production. Most likely mid-to late summer of 1958, this attractive example has survived well. Some tuner screws have been replaced but single-line Kluson tuners appear to be original but both D & G shafts are bent. Some touch up on the neck that appears to be marker. Gorgeous, almost quilted birds-eye top. There are some finish checking lifts on the side but not severe. The original frets show minimal wear but there is some light fingerboard rutting in the rosewood. Low profile ABR-1 bridge is correct-style with HPI stamp. The thumb wheels are newer chrome. The bridge is not ground as often seen in this era. Comes with an unusual but possibly original brown, rough tolex covered hard case. Lifton-style but unmarked.
7.8lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Very Good.
