Description

1956 Bigsby Standard Spanish-Neck Birds-Eye Maple Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #121556.
Rare and possibly the last Bigsby guitar ever made. Letters of correspondence between the original owner and Paul Bigsby are included. Canceled checks from the order and alterations per the owners request are also included. Purportedly this is the last guitar Paul Bigsby ever made. Paul told the owner that the red dot on the 'i' in the Bigsby logo stands for a stop sign, meaning this was the last one. No more were made after this but none of Mr. Bigsby's records survived after his death. Paul had done some work to the neck and moved the Bigsby per the
original owners request. The neck had come loose at the heel and was expertly repaired by Joe Glaser of Glaser Inst. Repair in Nashville, TN. The neck binding is loose and cracked in spots. Section of the bass side neck binding has broken off at the 3-7 frets. Section of binding is included.

Please see our online photos of the correspondence between Paul Bigsby and this guitars original owner. 7.4lbs. Original Bigsby-made hard case included. Condition: Very Good.
