    Description

1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial # 511572. A refinished Les Paul Black Beauty from late 1955. The original serial number was preserved during the repaint indicating late 1955 with an extra digit in the serial number. A top mount Bigsby has been added and the original stop bar holes are covered with pearloid dots. The electronics are working and original. There is considerable playwear to the finish on the back of the neck and under the pickguard. Heavy buckle rash through the finish. Finish loss near the neck pickup. The bridge is non-original but a later ARB-1 with wire. Frets are original fretless wonders with moderate wear. There are two screw holes in the back. Possibly the original hard-case but it has been recovered and relined (red). 8.2 lbs. Hard case included. Condition: Fair.
