Description

1950 Fender Broadcaster Butterscotch Blonde Solid Body Electric Guitar, Serial #2715.
November 1950 era Fender Broadcaster. The finish is original on the body but the finish on the lower bout edge has been removed. Refretted with large frets. Oversprayed neck. The Bakelite pickguard is correct but it has a patched hole at the neck with a corresponding screw hole in the body. Initials on the neck are IP, often seen in November 1950 on Broadcasters. The bridge pickup is later with copper plate. The route for neck pickup is somewhat crude as expected but extra wood has been added to the bottom of route and additional non-original routing around the edge of the cavity is present. Pots have date code of 304 919 (19th week of 1959). Caps are replaced. String ferrules are non-uniform, as per usual. New plastic nut. There is a stamp on the of the heel of the body of 0698. Appears to be some sort of factory code and has been corroborated by Nacho Banos. There are three holes on the bass side upper bout (alternate strap button placement) and three holes behind bridge plate on top of body. The tuners are slightly later single-line Klusons. Together with a slightly later form fit case (circa 1954). 6.6lbs. Original hard case included. Condition: Good.
