    Description

Steely Dan: Walter Becker's Hybrid 1963-64 Fender Bass. Walter Becker bought this bass in 1989. Walter used the bass for early tracking on songs on Donald Fagen's Kamakiriad CD. This bass is a 1964 Fender Jazz Bass with a 1963 Fender Precision Bass neck. The neck has not been modified. The body has had the pickguard screw holes filled and has been refinished in a pale blue. The original pickups have been replaced with Bartolinis and an active tone circuit. The serial number on this instrument is L21223. This is an excellent playing vintage bass, set up for professional use. In recent years the bass has been part of a studio collection, and has been used on various projects for film director David Lynch. Included with this lot is a black Fender hardshell case.
