    1927 Gibson Style 4 Brown Stain 5 String Banjo, Serial # 8836-8. Very nice conversion banjo with a triple bound mahogany resonator and two inlayed rings. Bright, clean original finish. Minor nicks, dings and scratches. Original serial number markings and chalk markings inside the resonator and rim all match. One-piece, no hole archtop tone ring. Minor corrosion and wear to the metal parts. Tenor tailpiece is still in use. Beautifully crafted 5-string conversion neck by an unknown maker. Period correct inlays and headstock overlay.
