Description

Martin F-9 Archtop Acoustic Guitar (1937) Condition: Very Good-plus.
This is an extremely rare pre-war F-9, in its original archtop mode. It features Brazilian rosewood sides and back, and produced in very limited quantities -- perhaps less than 80 were made, with a number later converted to flattops. This guitar has the same headstock and neck inlay as the prewar D-45. The fretboard appears to have had some careful restoration, a pickguard has been removed, and the entire body has been refinished with heavy lacquer, partially filling an old wear groove along the high E-string. Comes with the original case. From the Russ Cochran Guitar Archive.
