    Description

Johnny Cash's 1934 Martin 0-17 Mahogany Acoustic Guitar, Serial # 56236 Owned and Played by Graham Nash.

From Graham Nash's personal collection, this 1934 0-17 Martin acoustic guitar was owned by Johnny Cash and is personally etched by Johnny and June Carter Cash with a penny nail. Not only has Graham owned this, he has also played it. Johnny's autograph is noticeable on the back in the center, while "Love You" etched by June is on the back, bass-side upper bout. In Good condition with considerable wear from play and some repaired cracks on the top and back. This guitar features a Brazilian Rosewood neck and appears to have had a neck reset and possible heel repair. There is evidence of cracks to each side of the heel but they appear to have been repaired. The tuners are older Grovers but are later than the guitar (circa 1960's). The bridge and saddle have been shaved down. The nut is replaced and the frets will likely need to be dressed. A neck reset would make for optimal playing on this guitar. Comes with a Martin hard case.

COAs from Graham Nash and Heritage Auctions.
