John Denver's 1994 Taylor K15 Six-String Acoustic Stage-Used Guitar. This brother to the Taylor 12-string was used extensively by John Denver on world tours throughout the '90s. It was also featured prominently on numerous recordings, as well as pictured on the covers of at least two of Denver's commercially acclaimed recordings: John Denver Live and The Wildlife Concert. The guitar was also used during his final Australian tour in 1997. Taylor Guitars manufactured this beauty in 1994, and the serial number and model have been authenticated by Taylor as having been made in 1994 specifically for John Denver. This extraordinary black-and-white double bound body features a distinctive Koa top, back, and sides. Koa's natural tonal nuances yield the richest, most dynamic sound possible and this soundbox is a great example of these dynamics. The traditional mahogany neck is enhanced with a responsive Indian Rosewood fretboard decorated with eye-catching Progressive Diamond inlays, not to be outdone by the single-ring abalone inlays surrounding the rosette. The nut width measures 1.75" on this 25.5" scaled neck. Upgraded gold Grover tuners cap this sensational guitar. Even John's installed pickup is still neatly mounted in the soundhole! Comes with original black Taylor hardshell case. In Very Fine to Excellent condition, accompanied by photos of it being used onstage on his 1995 World Tour in Belgium, Frankfurt, Ludwigshafen, and at the Wildlife Concert. From the Hal Thau Collection. Accompanied by a letter of provenance from Thau, former manager of John Denver.
