Description

    Early 1940s Gibson J-55 Sunburst Acoustic Guitar. Very rare model. Original finish is very heavily weather checked, nicked, scratched, and dinged. Several top and back cracks. Two side cracks. Rare Indian rosewood sides. Mahogany back. Quarter inch endpin jack added with unknown under-saddle pickup. An additional quarter inch non-functional jack in butt area. Neck finish is very worn and dirty. Tuners have been changed to modern Grover Deluxe. Top is separating from the sides. Numbers and letters scratched in back of headstock. Non-original frets. Original maple bridge plate. Original full thickness bridge is lifting. Cloth patches added to several of top cracks. Loose braces. Project grade but rare guitar worthy of professional restoration. Hard case included. Condition: Poor.
