David Guard's 1960 Gibson J-200 Custom Black 12-String Acoustic Guitar, Serial # A34487. Special ordered by David Guard of the Kingston Trio. He told Gibson that he wanted a big acoustic like they had made for The Everly Brothers, but a 12 string. Story of how the guitar came into being as told by the family is included with the guitar. Reportedly the first 12-string acoustic made by Gibson, this guitar has several interesting custom touches. the guitar was originally sunburst and the back remains so. the top, sides and neck were re-finished in the mid-1960s. Top cracks that show through the finish may have been the reason for the refin in black. 1/4 inch end pin jack is a modern addition. Very playable guitar deserving of first hand inspection. Original hard case with slip cover included. Condition: Very Good.
