Description

1973 José Ramírez 1a Natural Classical Guitar, Serial #6708.
1973 José Ramírez 1a classical guitar in natural finish, serial #6708. This is a fine example of the craftsmanship and high-quality materials associated with Ramírez guitars from this period. It features a tight-grained cedar top paired with highly figured Brazilian rosewood back and sides. The nut width measures 53mm, and the scale length is 665mm. Action at the 12th fret is 5mm. The original finish is finely applied and shows signs of playwear only on the top, treble side of the soundhole. The makers initial/number on the inside of the guitar appears to be a 6 or 9 or P.
Hard case included. Condition: Very Good.

The 1a model represents the flagship of the José Ramírez workshop, built by hand using traditional Spanish methods and top-tier tonewoods. This 1973 example comes from a period highly regarded for tonal depth and projection, with its long scale and high action offering the powerful, singing voice favored by concert performers. The Brazilian rosewood back and sides contribute rich overtones and aesthetic beauty, making it not only a player's instrument but also a desirable piece for collectors. A well-preserved instrument from one of Spain's most prestigious luthiers.
