1953 Martin D-18 Natural Acoustic Guitar, Serial #132454.
This 1953 Martin D-18, serial #132454, is a mostly original example of one of Martin's most enduring and sought-after dreadnought models. It features a natural finish over a mahogany back and sides with a spruce top, and retains much of its original character. The guitar has suffered damage on both sides at the waist, which have been poorly repaired, and the entire body has been oversprayed and/or shellacked over the original finish. The bridge saddle has been replaced with an incorrect plastic piece, and the guitar will require a neck reset to achieve optimal playability.
