Jimi Hendrix 1969 Hawaii Tickets (2) and Concerts West Financial Statement. A two-page document laying out all the expenses for three shows by Jimi Hendrix in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 30, May 31 and June 1, 1969; and two of the nights' concert tickets, from May 30 and 31.

Tickets do not exist for the June 1 show because only two shows were scheduled originally, on May 30 and 31. The Sunday June 1 concert was added as a free make-up show due to the fact that Jimi had to cut Friday night's program off after 40 minutes due to amplifier problems.

The two-page document, on official Concerts West stationery, offers a rare and fascinating peek into the costs associated with hosting a major rock band in the last year of the 60's. Revelations abound; for one thing, the two May shows grossed almost $51,000 (the June 1 show was a freebie). Some of the financial figures are outright quaint; insurance was only $35 per show, Noel Redding's double-duty Fat Mattress group was paid $1,000 per show as the opening act, and don't miss those poster and handbill costs, including 50 bucks to distribute them! What a rare - make that unique - document for any Jimi collector.

    Condition details:
Document measures 8 ½" x 11" and in Very Good Minus condition. The whole document has a bit of toning from age. Page 1 is clean other than a horizontal fold crease. Page 2 has a small tear, creasing in the upper left area, and pencil and ink annotations throughout.

Tickets are 3 ½" x 1 ½" and in Near Mint condition except for the hole punches.

All items originated from the famous Jimi Hendrix collection of Jacaeber Kastor. COA from Heritage Auctions.
