DescriptionBeatles Washington Coliseum Ticket Stub (1964), Their First American Concert Appearance, in Acrylic Display. Some lucky fan used this $4.00 face value ticket to see the Beatles on February 11, 1964, in Washington, D.C. Just two days earlier, they had played live to America on the Ed Sullivan Show. The Beatles and their entourage traveled from New York to Washington by train due to an east coast snowstorm that grounded flights. After opening acts Tommy Roe, Jay & The Americans, and the Righteous Brothers, the Beatles came on stage and played a dozen songs in front of 8,000+ enthusiastic fans who had braved several inches of snow to attend. A landmark American concert event and a "must have" ticket for the collector. The pink stub is 2.5" x 1.5" with the date, the venue, and "The Beatles" shown in full. It is enclosed in a screw-down acrylic display of 5.5" x 3.5" x 0.625" and is in Fine condition. From the Connie and Dennis Dailey Monumental Beatle Collection.
