DescriptionThe Beatles Related Cyril Preston Signed Cavern Club Contract (1962).
An original Cana Variety Agency (London) contract between the owner of the Cavern Club in Liverpool and Cyril Preston for a "Cyril Preston And His Jazz band" performance at the Cavern. Took place on the evening of September 9th, 1962. The contract was signed at the bottom by Cyril Preston in blue ballpoint pen.
On the same evening, Cyril shared the bill at the Cavern with the Beatles. No contracts were drawn up for Beatles performances, as they performed at the club so frequently. In this pre-fame period, they were not often the headline act. No members of the Beatles signed the contract. The contract comes from the collection of the former Cavern Club compère, Bob Wooler. The contract measures 8" x 13". In Very Good Minus condition with creasing on the top portion and fading on the left side. COAs from Tracks Ltd. and Heritage Auctions.
