The Beatles Carnegie Hall Original Concert Ad Proof from Promoter Sid Bernstein (February 12, 1964). "Theatre Three Productions is privileged to introduce a new organization, formed specifically for the presentation of a wide variety of performing artists, in selected appearances at Carnegie Hall."

A very unique way for promoter Sid Bernstein to launch his new organization. So why not kick it all off by having the Beatles play Carnegie Hall?

Just coming off their Ed Sullivan appearance and the first full concert in Washington, the Beatles were scheduled to perform two concerts at the famous venue. Backstage they were greeted by guests including Shirley Bassey, and were also given a gold disc by Swan Records for selling a million copies of "She Loves You."

Tickets for the concerts went on sale at the box office on January 27th and had completely sold out by the following day. Approximatley 2,900 people saw each of the two shows. Additional chairs were put on the stage to accommodate the demand.

The ad measures in mat approx: 10.5" by 14.5" in Very Good Plus condition with creasing, warping, residue, and thumbsoiling. The color picture shows the people in chairs set up on the stage. It measures approx: 8 1/4" by 14 1/2" in Very Good Plus condition. Overall mat is approx: 18" by 24" with name plate at the bottom. Mat is in Very Good Plus condition with bumped corners, scuffing and scratching.

George Martin had wanted to record the Beatles' Carnegie Hall performances, and although Capitol Records agreed, he was denied permission by the American Federation of Musicians. The noise was so loud that it probably would not have turned out the way they wanted. This is a rare opportunity to obtain promoter Sid Bernstein's ad proof. What a cool piece of Beatles live history when Beatlemania was taking over the world. COA from Heritage Auctions.
