Zombies Rare "Lost" Acetate with Rod Argent Letters and Music Lead Sheets. An absolute goldmine for Zombies fans, and who isn't these days considering their recent and remarkable comeback. Consists of the following items. Acetate: A 7" two-sided disc with Apple Custom Recording labels. The titles are written on the labels by Chris White: "If It Don't Work Out" & "I Know She Will" / "Walking in the Sun" & "Girl Help Me". These songs were intended to appear on a follow-up album to Odessey and Oracle based on the success of the single "Time of the Season," released after the group split up in late 1967. This "lost" album never made it out at the time but was finally released as originally intended earlier this year with the tongue-in-cheek title R.I.P. Rod Argent Letter: A one-page handwritten letter on a plain 5.25" x 7" sheet dated February 22, 1968, with amazing content about the band's recent break-up, in full: "Dear Jeremy, Thanks for your letter. I'm sorry to say the Zombies has broken up as a group. However we have one last single called 'Time of the Season' coming out at the beginning of April, and an L.P. at the end of April. Myself and Hugh will be forming a new group with musicians from other groups, but we don't know the name of the group yet. Thanks for your interest. Rod Argent". The upcoming album he mentioned was, of course, Odessey and Oracle. Rod Argent Letter and Envelope, Lead Sheets: To the same correspondent as above, Argent hand writes and signs a letter on his Nexus Record Productions company letterhead, sending photocopies of lead sheets for two of their popular songs, "A Rose for Emily" and "Beechwood Park." Envelope of transmittal included. Acetate grades VG-EX 6. Other items generally Fine.
