THIS IS THE VERY FIRST BEATLES BOX SET SOLD IN THE USA!!

The Beatles "Special Limited Edition" Vinyl LP Box Set With Black Promo Cube. This is the first of its kind that we have seen, Fab Four lovers! Not only does this have the "Special Limited Edition" box set, but it also comes with the ultra rare black promo cube.

Issued in the mid-1970s, this box set has sealed copies of Meet the Beatles! (ST 2047), Something New (ST 2108), Beatles '65 (ST 2228), The Early Beatles (ST 2309), Rubber Soul (ST 2442), Revolver (ST 2576), Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (2653), Magical Mystery Tour (SMAl 2835), Hey Jude (SW-385), and Abbey Road (SO-383). All made at the Winchester plant. Was first Beatles vinyl box set sold in the US and according to the Perry Cox Price Guide there are less than 10 copies known to exist. Very Rare! All records sealed and appear to be in MT 9 condition.

Owned by the consignor who originally purchased the set in a Florida record store in 1976 after spotting the promo display cube sitting in the store and asking the clerk what that thing was. The clerk replied that the cube was to promote this Beatles box collection. Consignor asks "What Beatles collection?" "That One!" says the clerk, pointing to the black box set that said "Beatles Special Limited Edition."

Unheard of at the time, the consignor bought the only copy immediately, then asked the clerk if he could also have the promotional display cube and the clerk said "Sure." The consignor later wrote a letter to the head of Capitol Records at the time to see if he could purchase any more copies of the set directly from Capitol, to resell at Beatles conventions, etc. The reply letter from Capital Records, on Capitol letterhead stating that no more copies were available is also included in this package. The consignor has enjoyed ownership of this awesome set, proudly displaying it along with the promo cube for the past 45 plus years. All records remain still sealed and unused. The record slip case box has been covered with protective plastic since purchase.

Only a handful of these box sets are known to exist, and the promotional display cube is unheard of.

Comes with a black promo cube that measures 12" cubed. In Very Good condition with various scrapes and minor tears and creasing spots. COA from Heritage Auctions.
