The Beatles and Tony Sheridan - East German 45rpm Picture Sleeves "Ain't She Sweet / Cry For A Shadow" (Amiga 4 50 466, 1964) and "Sweet Georgia Brown / Why" (Amiga 4 50 471, 1965), with a Tony Sheridan Signed 1962 Star-Club Receipt. (East Germany, West Germany, 1960s) Four songs from the German Tony Sheridan sessions that were released in 1964-65 after the Beatles worldwide fame. The first two songs actually did not have Tony Sheridan on vocals. "Ain't She Sweet" featured John Lennon singing and "Cry For A Shadow" was an instrumental with writing credited to John Lennon and George Harrison (the only as such); it was a tribute/ parody of the Shadows style. "Sweet Georgia Brown" and "Why" featured Sheridan on vocals with the Beatles backing him up. Included is a 5.75" x 4.25" cash voucher from the Star Club in Hamburg (where the Beatles and Sheridan often played) dated August 14, 1962, and signed by Sheridan in ink. "Ain't She Sweet / Cry For A Shadow": Disc GD-VG 4 / Sleeve GD-VG 4 with a tears, staining, and yellowing. "Sweet Georgia Brown / Why": Disc VG 5 / Sleeve VG 5 with tears, yellowing and writing. From the Uwe Blaschke Beatles Collection.
