The Beach Boys Smile Group of (2) 7-Inch Acetates and (6) 10-Inch Acetates (1966/67). Immensely scarce stack of (8) acetates originally belonging to Durrie and Van Dyke Parks from the Beach Boys' Smile, the unfinished follow up to their 1966 masterpiece Pet Sounds. Van Dyke was a regular collaborator of Brian Wilson for both Pet Sounds and Smile. (1) 7-inch is an unfinished version of "Wind Chimes" and (1) is an unfinished portion of "Heroes and Villains". The remaining 10-inches feature an early version of "Cabin Essence," portions and unfinished parts of "Heroes & Villains," a version of "Do You Like Worms," an unfinished version of "Wind Chimes," and a version of "Time to Get Alone," which would later be featured on the Beach Boys' 20/20. Each acetate comes with a signed letter of authenticity by Durrie, mentioning how she was married to Van Dyke in the 1960s and 1970s. All have been played through and exhibit some scratching.
