Metallica "Fade to Black" 12-Inch White Label Promo On Fluorescent Green Vinyl (Elektra, ED 5042). A 12-inch single with "Fade to Black" on both sides, pressed on fluorescent green vinyl. Grades to NM 8 condition.

Plastic sleeve includes a large hype sticker with a testimonial from the radio industry publication Friday Morning Quarterback.

As uncompromising as the San Francisco metal band was, they were not afraid to put a ballad on their Ride the Lightning LP. Displaying growth away from the skate rock/thrash sound of their debut Kill 'Em All, the band's diverse influences - especially those from bassist Cliff Burton - went into effect. Writing a bleak song after a prized guitar amp was stolen, principal songwriter James Hetfield was heartfelt, vulnerable, and honest in what he wrote. Beginning with an acoustic guitar and ending with a full-throttle riff (augmented by constant double bass hits), the song has been a staple of the band's live sets ever since.
