Duke Ellington Acetate Group of Four (1946). We were especially excited when we received these historic acetates. The Duke was such an important part of 20th century American music, with a legacy of some of Jazz/Big Band's most beloved compositions and performances. The unique, raw quality of the acetates conveys a feeling of being there watching and listening to musical history being made. Included in this first lot are the one-sided "Happy Go Lucky Local Part 1"; the two sided "Happy Go Lucky Part 2" b/w The King Cole Trio's "Don't Learn That in School"; "Ritt & Drill"/ "Tip Toe Topic"; and "Narcissa"/ Billy Butterfield's "Malaguena." Condition of discs: VG 5, with some surface noise.
