Conway Twitty Rockabilly LP Group of 6 (MGM, 1959-61). Much like Elvis, Twitty's roots were deep in Country, and like Elvis, he embraced the exciting offshoot of Rock and Roll. He became a Country icon during the 1970s, but these early recordings also leaned to Rockabilly and Pop. Another parallel to Elvis: Twitty's second biggest hit "Lonely Blue Boy" was originally recorded but not released by the King for the movie "King Creole". Included here: Conway Twitty Sings (MGM 3744, 1959) in EX 7/ NM 8; Saturday Night with Conway Twitty (MGM 3786, 1959) in EX 7/ NM 8; Lonely Blue Boy (MGM 3818, 1960) in EX 7/ NM 8; Conway Twitty's Greatest Hits (MGM 3849, 1960) in EX 7/ EX 7, with poster and insert; and both stereo and mono (a promo) copies of The Rock & Roll Story (MGM 3907, 1961) both in EX 7/ NM 8. Discs are all stereo except 3849 and one of the two copies of 3907.
