Beatles Yesterday and Today Third State Butcher Cover Stereo LP (Capitol 2553, 1966). A very nice copy of the most controversial Beatles album cover (not counting, of course any solo Beatle album -- ahem, Mr. Lennon!). The original cover was banned just after the initial release of the album in 1966. Capitol hurriedly selected an alternate cover (the "trunk cover"), rushed the newly covered albums into distribution, in some cases slapping the new cover right on top of the banned one. That's what happened here, but the outer cover has been cleanly removed to reveal the dastardly Butcher Cover, so in-demand by collectors. The stereo version is much rarer than the mono version. On this copy, there is wear on the cover edges, but the record is near-perfect. Condition VG-EX 6/ NM 8.
