    Description

Beatles - Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers "My Bonnie / The Saints" Rare 45 (Decca 31382, 1962). It's among the rarest of the U.S. Beatles singles, even rarer than the pink label promo version of the record (see next lot). This fabulous example includes the Decca sleeve upon which someone has typed "Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers/ The Saints/ My Bonnie". The label is date-stamped "APR 11 1962" on the B side. The record went nowhere when it was released, and most of the few copies pressed were trashed, which explains why the promo copies actually outnumber the stock commercial version. There are likely only about twenty copies known to exist. Only when Beatlemania began in the States in earnest in 1964 was the record re-released and, riding the coattails of the Capitol and Vee-Jay releases, managed to climb to Number Twenty-six before quickly falling off Billboard's Hot 100 charts. As collectors became historians, the release attained more and more stature as an extremely rare item. You are not likely to find a nicer copy. Condition: NM 8/ MT 9. From the Stan Panenka Beatles Vinyl Collection.

    More Information:

Possessing a Beatles record collection so astounding we've never seen its equal, Stan Panenka is a name known by virtually every serious Beatles collector. Though his first Beatles record was Hey Jude, bought in 1970, it wasn't until 1990 with his purchase of a copy of the Decca single "My Bonnie" that Stan began seriously collecting high-end American Beatles vinyl. Since then, his collection has grown to colossal proportions, in terms of both quantity and quality, making it quite possibly the greatest collection of United States-pressed Beatles records ever known. A large part of what makes this collection so important are his condition standards, which are stringent even among high-end dealers. He's never bought an album that wasn't at least Near Mint, bringing a "just-left-the-pressing-plant" quality to nearly every item in this incredible accumulation. As one of the preeminent experts in American Beatles records, Stan has written well-received price guides on Beatles vinyl, and is a walking treasure trove of information on the subject!

Heritage is ecstatic to bring you this, the first taste of the absolute finest Beatles record collection ever viewed by our specialists, with more to come in November's auction! Here is your chance to own pieces of this historic collection!
