Beatles - Tony Sheridan and the Beat Brothers "My Bonnie" 45 (Canada - Decca 31382, 1962), Incredibly Rare, Finest Copy Known. Two years before the Beatles' US breakthrough, the future Fab Four backed English rocker Tony Sheridan as "The Beat Brothers" on this historic recording, resulting in several different highly-sought pressings, with some being far rarer than others. What we have here is a shining example of the rarest.
It's a Canadian issue of the same Decca recording issued in the US, with a somewhat different label. It should be noted that all authentic copies of this Decca 45 have visible etched letters and numbers found in the label area on both sides of the record as a result of those markings having been etched into the metal stampers themselves. The record information (letters and numbers) faintly seen in the photo on the disc labels on both sides, located approximately at the 4 or 5 o'clock positions, is the result of this information having been "engraved" on the Decca metal stampers used to press the 45 back in April 1962. All known copies of this 45 exhibit this property, and is an identifying method for discerning "authentic" copies of this incredibly rare record. Also, all known authentic copies of this 45 exhibit the "exact precise label graphic anomaly," as seen only on side 2 of the disc, in the thick silver top bar, located on the left side of the label. This is commonly seen on the "permanent graphics" of other Decca 45s of various artists from that period. With only six confirmed copies known to exist, this one is the finest known. An unparalleled piece in any Beatles collection. Includes its original Decca sleeve. Condition: NM 8 (exhibits mark on label).
