Description

Beatles "Ask Me Why" (Souvenir Of Their Visit To America) Rare Promo EP Sleeve (Vee-Jay EP1-903, 1964). This promotional sleeve was issued with a few promotional copies of the VeeJay EP containing the songs "Ask Me Why," "Anna," "Misery," and "A Taste of Honey." It touts the special low price: "an E.P. that is selling like a single... at single record prices". This is extremely rare with only about eight examples known to exist. An oddity in that the sleeve opens at the bottom. Condition: NM 8.5. From the Stan Panenka Beatles Vinyl Collection. We believe this to be the only known NM copy of this extremely rare sleeve.

More Information: ★PAN was Hey Jude, bought in 1970, it wasn't until 1990 with his purchase of a copy of the Decca single "My Bonnie" that Stan began seriously collecting high-end American Beatles vinyl. Since then, his collection has grown to colossal proportions, in terms of both quantity and quality, making it quite possibly the greatest collection of United States-pressed Beatles records ever known. A large part of what makes this collection so important are his condition standards, which are stringent even among high-end dealers. In most cases he's never bought an album that wasn't at least Near Mint, bringing a "just-left-the-pressing-plant" quality to great deal of the items in this incredible accumulation. As one of the preeminent experts in American Beatles records, Stan has written well-received price guides on Beatles vinyl, and is a walking treasure trove of information on the subject!
