Young Rascals / Crystals / Leslie West 1966 Concert Poster.
An original advertising window card for new stars The Young Rascals plus three support acts at the Long Island Arena, Commack, Long Island, N.Y. on Friday, October 7, 1966.

Yellow & blue colors plus photos of the top two acts accentuate this cardboard poster, the only one of its kind we've ever seen. Three out of the four acts on the poster enjoyed national #1 pop hits in Billboard. The Young Rascals were fresh off their #1 smash hit "Good Lovin'" from earlier in the year. And what a young, innocent publicity photo of them.

The Vagrants are right below them, a band that featured guitarist Leslie West, who went on to form Mountain three years later. West is the one pictured in the upper left-hand corner of the photo.

Ruby and the Romantics were the second act to achieve a #1 with "Our Day Will Come" in 1963. And the Crystals were primarily a studio group under the tutelage of producer Phil Spector, where Darlene Love laid down some of her most memorable vocals, including on the #1 hit "He's a Rebel." But Love was not part of the group's public face, so it's hard to say with certainty which gals were part of this touring group.

This fun original poster, printed by the Murray Poster Printing Co. in New York, measures 14" x 22" and is graded Very Good Plus with a couple of small stains at the top, also two pin holes at the top edge, and some very minor edge nicking along the bottom. COA from Heritage Auctions.
