DescriptionTim Buckley/Velvet Underground at Avalon Ballroom (Family Dog, 1968). Concert Poster (14" x 20"). A lovely purple poster from scenic San Francisco. Advertising a concert on May 19-21, 1968. Photo by Paul Kagan. With this poster, the Family Dog dramatically cut back its print runs. This poster was only printed once, and can therefore be harder to find. In 1968, Tim Buckley had shifted his typical folk rock music into a darker style with greater political commentary and anti-war sentiment. Meeting with great acclaim, Buckley began experimenting with his sound, performing new songs at concerts like this one, where he headlined over the Velvet Underground and Allmen Joy. An unrestored concert poster with bright color and a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, creases, or very minor corner bends. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Very Fine. COA from Heritage Auctions.
