Description
The Who 1969 Fillmore East, NYC "Tommy" Concert Poster (AOR-2.94). An original first-printing concert poster for The Who performing their new rock opera Tommy at Bill Graham's Fillmore East auditorium over the week of October 20-25, 1969. This red, white & blue Anglophile poster promises the classic album will be performed in its entirety, "By Special Arrangement with Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II." Um, somehow we doubt that, but it looked good on the poster. And the 'Oo still left a few songs out.The poster was designed by noted pop artist David Edward Byrd, who also created the classic Jimi Hendrix Fillmore East poster. At 23 1/8" x 34 3/8", this poster is too large to be graded and encapsulated by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company), despite it appearing in The Art of Rock. Heritage assessed it as grading to Near Mint condition. From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
