Description
The Sylvers & The Chairmen of the Board - Two Vintage Concert Posters (circa 1970s) A compelling pair of jumbo Globe cardboard concert posters from the 1970's, both featuring Globe's trademark Day-Glo inks of yellow & orange.1) The Sylvers and the Mighty Sylvers Band, with opening act First Choice, on Sunday, June 1, 1975 at the Walker Theatre in Indianapolis, IN. Measuring approximately 22" x 35.25". In Very Good minus condition with multiple creases from folds and wear to edges and corners.
2) The Chairmen of the Board at the Continental Showcase (city unknown) on Saturday, October 28, 1972. Measuring approximately 17" x 30.75". In Very Good Minus condition with light wear and creasing along edges and at corners, and areas of dampstaining on lower quarter.
The Day-Glo inks used by Globe Posters in the 60's & 70's really come to life on these posters, already looking great in normal light and then taking on new life under a purple-tube blacklight. See our additional photos to see how the Day-Glo paints jump off the posters under a blacklight. Interesting to note how the orange stays orange, but for some reason the yellow turns to green. Wild!
