    Description

    The Rolling Stones / Kinks / Moody Blues / Dave Clark Five 1965 Chicago, IL Handbill. An original paper concert flyer advertising six British Invasion bands playing at the Arie Crown Theater in McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois in the spring and early summer of 1965. This is an especially nice handbill because every artist listed is a total hitmaking winner, the red color adds dramatic visual value, several bands have their photo on there, there's a nice paragraph of explanation for each one, and of course... it's The Rolling Stones.

    Notice how promoter Ed Pazdur - who had presented the Stones in Chicago (and Milwaukee) the year before - uses the term "plus an All-Star Revue" for each date. The headliners, however, that people were coming to see were:
    Gerry & The Pacemakers on April 26, right on the heels of their Top 10 hit "Ferry Cross the Mersey";
    The Stones on May 9, also immediately following their latest Top 10 hit, "The Last Time";
    Herman's Hermits on June 3, with the biggest hit of their career having just descended from the #1 spot in the nation (but still in the Top 10), "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter";
    The Kinks and The Moody Blues on June 21. The former were coming off their three straight Top 10 hits, "You Really Got Me," "All Day and All of the Night" and "Tired of Waiting for You." And the Moody Blues had enjoyed their own Top 10 hit, "Go Now," earlier that spring; and,
    The Dave Clark Five on June 27, whose latest Top 10 hit, "I Like It Like That," had just entered Billboard magazine's Hot 100 chart.

    Measures 8 1/2" x 11" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. Was once folded in thirds for mailing, horizontally, and even says "Teen Mail" down in the lower right corner. The two creases fall nicely between lines of text, but arguably break a little color in the Pacemakers' photo and the four cartoon musicians. The item was once lightly dinged when it was folded down (perhaps still in the envelope), so there's a half-inch crease in the upper right corner and two of them to the right of the cartoon musicians.
