The Rolling Stones 1969 Set of 5 Decca Records U.K. Promo Posters. An original set of five British Decca Records promo posters for the Rolling Stones in 1969, made to promote the arrival of guitarist Mick Taylor in the band, their latest album Let It Bleed, and the Stones' catalog in general.

Great individual posters of Mick Jagger, Keith Richard (without the "s," so 60's), Mick Taylor, Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts, as shot by esteemed photographer Ethan Russell. "Mick Jagger / The Rolling Stones / Exclusively on Decca," they say for each musician, followed by fine-print label information. The Jagger poster (only) adds "Printed in England."

Decca actually made these promo posters in two sizes, and this is the larger size with more wording on them. Very scarce and hard to find individually, let alone a full set of the large size in such clean condition. And this is the first time Heritage has ever been able to offer any of them in any size. Each poster here measures 13" x 18 1/2" and grades to strong Very Good Plus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Decca's smaller versions of these posters were 2 ½" shorter, and omitted "Exclusively On" and the fine print / company address under the Decca logo. They're more tightly cropped, too, so you don't get all of Keith's snakeskin boots, etc. The smaller ones do add the word "Tapes."

A set of five like this presents a challenge to collectors, because some collectors have just some of the posters, trying to complete their set. There are also five opportunities for damage to occur to a poster, instead of just one. So getting a full set in clean condition is the challenge, and a great opportunity here.

Condition details: These five are all close to mint condition, but every poster has one tiny pinprick hole in each corner, which drops them out of the ‘mint' terminology. They're the smallest, most harmless pinholes imaginable. The Jagger poster does have a bit of edge bumping/crumpling along its left edge, both top and bottom, and a very light three-inch crease in the upper left corner area. Bill Wyman also has the tiniest amount of edge bumping found on its lower left edge. Otherwise, the whole set has just the smallest amount of general handling. Condition freaks will be very, very pleased with this VG+ rating (which most would call near mint minus).
