The Rolling Stones 1966 Essen, Germany Concert Poster. An original thin-paper, German-language concert poster advertising the Rolling Stones appearing in Essen, Germany, on Wednesday, March 29, 1966. However, the Stones did not play this show; they played in Paris, France on this date instead. The German authorities were very wary of unruly fans at rock concerts, and so after this date (and probably others) were planned by the group, and this poster printed, Germany was left off the itinerary. The band's brief spring 1966 European tour visited Holland, Belgium, France, Sweden and Denmark instead.

Before listing this poster, Heritage investigated it carefully and concluded that it was definitely printed before the planned show and is not a bootleg. Instead of every Essen poster being discarded at the time, some got saved. It makes sense this isn't a bootleg or repro anyway because it lacks the group's picture, which other horizontal red Stones posters at the time had. So yes, this was truly printed when "19th Nervous Breakdown" was the band's current single.

Measures approx. 33" x 22 1/2" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. Some surface creasing and edge ruffling from handling over the years. A few small marks of tape residue on the verso. COA from Heritage Auctions.
