The Cramps 1986 Ritz NY Concert Poster. A 1986 poster from the legendary punk band at the Ritz on the first day of August. This would be the year the band would release their third album, A Date With Elvis, featuring such tracks as "The Hot Pearl Snatch," "What's Inside a Girl?" and "How Far Can Too Far Go?"

Formed in 1976 by vocalist Erick Purkhiser (aka, Lux Interior) and guitarist Kristy Wallace (aka, Poison Ivy), the New York band was not afraid to show the raunchy side of original rock 'n' roll mixed with punk attitude and rockabilly feels. Known for classic tunes like "Human Fly" and "I Can't Hardly Stand It," the band had contributed to the soundtrack from the horror/comedy The Return of the Living Dead in the previous year. Inspiring plenty of people to start their own bands and make their own noise (Minor Threat/Fugazi's Ian MacKaye is one of their many fans), the band weathered trends and broke up after the death of Purkhiser in 2009.

The Ritz venue hosted many legendary shows, including the first American show U2 played, the Misfits recorded a track onstage, and a series of MTV concerts were filmed there (including the Appetite for Destruction lineup of Guns N' Roses).

Poster measures 25" x 35". Repairs have been done along the perimeter on verso, and a hole next to the "Y" in York has been filled. In Very Good Plus with creasing, staple holes, and aforementioned repairs. COA from Heritage Auctions.
