The Beatles Help! Original & Complete Promotional Set of Four Door Panels (4) (United Artists, 1965). These door panels/posters are some of the most incredibly rare and desirable of the Beatles promotional items and were produced for their second feature film. Door panels, which were displayed in the press book, were rarely ordered by the theater owners as so few theaters really had a place to display them, and even if they did, they were somewhat expensive to purchase. A full set cost, at that time, a whopping $7.50 whereas a one sheet cost 15¢! Of the sets of these that were ordered in the film's initial showing, many of them were broken up and given away to the fans at the end of its run, one at a time. Single panels do infrequently appear! This is their only film, by the way, in which a set of door panels was produced!
Each Panel measures approx: 18" by 60". 1) John Lennon has tape stains, some yellowing due to age, bending, edge wear and a tear approx: 2.5" at the bottom of the panel under the name Beatles in Fine condition; 2) Paul McCartney shows tape stains, bending, yellowing, edge wear and some minor ink writing on the back of the panel in Very Fine condition; 3) George Harrison has tape stains, other staining, paper loss, yellowing, edge wear and ink writing on the back of the panel in Fine condition; 4) Ringo Starr with paper loss, bending, yellowing, tape stains and edge wear in Very Fine condition. They all still maintain their rich color and sharpness. Finding a complete set is seldom seen so add these rare examples to the collection. From the Connie and Dennis Dailey Monumental Beatles Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.
