The Beatles 1966 Shea Stadium, New York Concert Handbill. An
original B&W paper advertising flyer for John, Paul, George and
Ringo's second appearance at New York's Shea Stadium, on Tuesday,
August 23, 1966.The show didn't sell out, so promoter Sid Bernstein needed all the help he could get with advertising materials. Be sure to read our description of the full poster in this sale to get all the pertinent background on the concert, and therefore this piece, which is pretty scarce in its own right.
Measures 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and in Very Good Plus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
More Information: Interestingly, printed vertically along the right side is this notification: "Our next concert will star The Young Rascals in an All Star show at Madison Square Garden or some other large New York arena." Bernstein was their manager and never missed an opportunity to promote them.
Condition details: In beautiful condition other than a couple of very light creases which are barely visible, probably happened 50 years ago and have been flat ever since: a horizontal one under "Sid Bernstein" and a diagonal crease in the lower left corner area that goes through the S in Singer, the K in Rockefeller, the A in Ave. and the 1 in 212.
