Description

The Beatles 1966 San Francisco Bay Area Ticket-Contest Poster. A fun and unusual 1966 Day-Glo contest poster to win tickets to the Beatles' final concert ever, at San Francisco's Candlestick Park, on Monday, August 29, 1966. This sign was used in San Jose, California, about an hour south of San Francisco. This small poster was made on rigid cardboard and printed with a bright, rich, Day-Glo orange color. Very cool and unusual hand-drawn portraits were used to portray George, John, Ringo and Paul. Measures 11" x 14" and grades to Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: It's not clear who was arranging this ticket give-away, but the Beatles' final concert did not sell out, so the promoter may have seen the value in giving away 25 pairs of tickets at the last minute in the hopes of selling hundreds more through the contest's publicity and exposure.

Remains in immaculate shape despite the passing of 55 years. If you've got a Beatles' Candlestick Park poster, this would be its much rarer companion piece. If you can't afford a regular Beatles Candlestick poster, this would still be a great way to own original ticket advertising for the last time they ever stepped on a stage together.
